Snooker champion Higgins loses passport on Hong Kong night out Posted : Thu, 12 Jul 2007 03:31:09 GMT Author : DPA Hong Kong - World snooker champion John Higgins has put out an appeal for help after losing his passport on a night out in Hong Kong, a news report said Thursday. Scotsman Higgins, 32, who is in Hong Kong for a tournament, lost his passport on a night out with fellow players on Tuesday night, he said at a press conference on Wednesday.
"I think I lost it somewhere between the hotel and the tram," said Higgins, according to the South China Morning Post. "All I know is that I'll have to sort something out quick."
Higgins is due to fly on to Shanghai on Monday following the Hong Kong tournament, the Euro-Asia Masters Challenge which carries 400,000 Hong Kong dollars (51,000 US dollars) in prize money.
He added: "If no one finds it, I'll have to go to the British consulate to have one issued."
Higgins, who turned professional in 1992, has won the snooker world championship twice, in 1998 and in 2007.
